At the heart of this design is an archival poster from Cafe Paradiso — the Capitol Hill coffee house that founder Anne Michelson launched as a parallel project, born from the same spirit as Crescent Down Works. Opened on the heels of the Japanese market crash that reshaped the business, it marked a pivotal chapter in our history. The café sat above one of our original workshops and became a late-night home for Seattle’s creative scene, from open mics and poetry slams to the early sounds of grunge and punk.
