In registering this variety with the American Peony Society, Saunders described the blossoms as "large semi-double pearled lavender with darker shadings, varied to palest green." Semi-spreading habit, height at maturity 3'. Cultivar group, hybridizer and year introduced: Lutea hybird, Saunders, 1948. Growth habit and size at maturity (10 years old): Spreading habit, to 3' tall and and 4' wide. Flower form and size: Single to semi-double blossoms to 6-8". Flower fragrance: Light, spicy-sweet. Bloom time: Late season tree peony, blooms in our USDA zone 6a garden in the first or second week of June.Zone hardiness: Proven in USDA zones 4-9.
