1880s Naive Pennsylvania Graphite Drawing of Woman with Fancy Hair and Lots of Lace
It's the details on this 19th c. graphite drawing, found in PA, that really do it for me....her sphynx-like eyes, and ornate earrings, and all that carefully detailed lace--and especially the very long three fingers of her exposed hand, gesturing as if delivering a secret signal! Plenty aged, with toning and some scattered spotting, an old horizontal fold line down the center, and some loss to the lower left corner, but I think she's wonderful, and might hang her right next to my favorite reading chair. I know from the seller 1880s, as she came from a group of drawings that included a date. I popped the drawing in this nice old frame to keep it safe and stable, and would leave it just as it is. 11 3/8" x 9 1/4" framed, general aging and toning, and loss to bottom left corner as noted above (with matching paper behind that corner loss, such that it not much evident.)
