One of a few paper cuts and paper weavings found in Pennsylvania a few weeks ago, just about the most charming I've seen. The orange paper used for this finely cut star within a star appears to have been spatter painted with black (which I recently learned was often done by blowing through a glass tube, like a straw, a technique often used in watercolor theorems.) A very lovely thing, 19th c., most worthy of a good frame. Approx. 4 1/4" tall and wide. One fine split at the tip of one outer point, as documented.
