Quite an early punch paper embroidery, dated Dec. 25, 1848, and I think a pretty great one, casting the bible as "the guide to happiness"--minus one "s". Pretty wreath of greens encircling the book, and lovely silk ribbon for the bookmark too. All in remarkably good condition. Embroidery itself: 3 5/8" x 2". Overall: 13 1/2" x 2 3/8". Very very good condition.
