Great Old Scratch Made Crate Wood Folk Art Painted Brick Church
The creamy white paint (especially those arched windows) against unpainted wood and green roof on this church completely do it for me. I found this one along with two houses the other day in Maine, and while certainly made by the same person, 1920s-30s I would guess, each feels like its own special thing and is of substantial scale, so I am listing individually. Made from scratch using crate wood (with the print on the wood visible inside), with painstakingly hand-painted brick and graphite details. Wonderful proportions, super graphic, great all the way around, very charming; just my kind of church! And it reads 10:20 on all of the clocks. 12 1/4” t x 11” l x 5 3/8” w. Very good condition, one split in the wood of the roof on one side presenting no issues; very sturdy and sound.
