Oshun: In Yoruban culture, Oshun is deeply respected as the Orisha of love, and venerated as the goddess of rivers. She embodies the qualities of sweetness, purity, beauty, divinity, femininity and sensuality. She is considered one of the most influential and powerful of all the Orisha and is often depicted as a guardian, defender and nurturer of humanity. She is revered as the granter of wishes, the cultivator of love, and the bringer of laughter. Nonetheless, it is important to note that she can also become temperamental and moody under the right circumstances.
