Osun: Osun (Ozun), though recognized as one of the Orisha, differs from the others as he isn’t claimed as a guardian spirit. Instead, he functions as a vigilant watchman and protector of the orí, or the "head," of practitioners. Osun’s primary responsibility is to warn against danger to both physical and spiritual well-being, as such he is regarded as a symbol of good health, balance, and stability. Within the home, Osun remains ever watchful, taking his place as a silent guardian who never sleeps. Traditionally he is positioned in elevated spaces such as high shelves or bookcases where he can oversee and monitor household activities. Unlike other Orisha, Osun doesn’t have specific colors tied to him. Instead, he encompasses all colors, especially red, yellow, blue, and white, which are traditionally used in initiation rituals.
