Anderson, Bec Title: Snow Globe

Bec Anderson Snow Globe 24 x 24 x 1.5" Acrylic on Canvas $200   I had in mind a snow globe as I created this piece. I wanted to capture swirling snow, windy weather and isolation. A small, frigid world hovering in an expanse of dark space. Artist's Statement: When I paint, it's as though color, texture and form come together to “riff” on an idea. These ideas often involve spiritual or sensuous experiences that are commonly sought, regardless of place, religion, race or culture. Ideas like love, beauty, freedom and connection are my inspiration. My process begins with the application of several layers of acrylic paint to canvas using a variety of tools to build texture. I prefer using a harmonious color palette, and tend to rely on tone and shapes to capture the viewer's attention.
