Anderson, Bec Title: Tethered

Bec Anderson Tethered 20 x 10 x 1.5" Acrylic on Canvas $150   This painting is part of a series in which I explore the tension between our need for freedom and interdependence on one another. The globes or balloons represent separate entities floating freely while remaining loosely tethered to one another. Artist's Statement:  When I paint, it's as though color, texture and form come together to “riff” on an idea. These ideas often involve spiritual or sensuous experiences that are commonly sought, regardless of place, religion, race or culture. Ideas like love, beauty, freedom and connection are my inspiration. My process begins with the application of several layers of acrylic paint to canvas using a variety of tools to build texture. I prefer using a harmonious color palette, and tend to rely on tone and shapes to capture the viewer's attention.
