HBIM - High Beam Indicator Module for Koito Headlight Upgrade Kit
The High Beam Indicator Module: So you bought the Koito Headlight Upgrade Kit - "the best $35 you can spend on your FJ40/60" - but now the indicator for the high beams doesn't work. Annoying! Here's the fix. This has been designed to work seamlessly with Toyota's stock wiring system for 1981-1987 FJ60s. Schematics were perused, engineers were consulted (thanks Ross!), many calculations made, and many tests run. Plug it into the empty stock headlight connector on the driver's side of the truck. That's it. It works. (And works for other Toyotas too - see list below.) Safety features have been built into the HBIM: 1. Almost no perceptible heat generated (this is not a load resistor; that is not what was needed to solve this problem). 2. Time-delay 7A fuse built in. This thing will blow before the headlight fuse on your truck. If it blows please inspect your truck's wiring first, then purchase another HBIM. 3.
