Kedarnath Print on Canvas by Nayaswami Jyotish
This is a special painting. There is a small temple high in the Himalayas at Kedarnath that was said to have been built by the Pandavas as they were leaving this earth. Many miracles surround the temple and the area. The year before we visited, the temple was miraculously spared from a disastrous landslide. This painting shows Master, who was Arjuna in a former lifetime, revisiting the temple he helped build. He pauses at the end of a long trek, waiting for us to catch up to him. Art by Jyotish is meditation-born art using vivid colors that bridge the gap between the material world and the astral or heavenly worlds of heightened awareness. Yogananda, author of Autobiography of a Yogi, is often depicted in Jyotish’s paintings as a symbol of enlightened consciousness.
