CELESTITE (or CELESTINE) - Great specimen from Madagascar Celestite (or Celestine) is my personal favorite of all stones and I treasure my personal collection of these beautiful light blue crystals.  In my more selfish moments I would keep them all, but most of the time I want to share them with everyone.  Celestite is a mineral form of Strontium Sulfate.  It was named for its delicate blue color.  The mineral is fairly soft (Mohs hardness 3-3.5) so it is generally too soft for use in jewelry.  Celestite is a fairly dense (heavy) mineral. Celestite is considered to be an important stone in metaphysical use and an important component of the healer's accoutrements.   WEIGHT: 4 pounds, 1.5 ounces.
