Old Saybrook Breakwater Lighthouse Birdhouse
Breakwater Light, featured on all sides of the birdhouse, is one of two lighthouses in Sally's home town of Old Saybrook, Connecticut. It sits at the end of the jetty where the Connecticut River meets Long Island Sound. Beacons for safe passage, lighthouses like this one have been created for one purpose - to save lives, and the goods they bring to & from coastlines around the world. I build these birdhouses using 3/4" plywood and metal panels that I design and make in my studio. The panels will never rust. They are made from the same UV-protected metal as a novelty license plate, like those for a university or ball team.
