Tillandsia Velvet Fountain (Tillandsia ionantha x Tillandsia harrisii)

Origins: Unregistered hybrid, breeder unknown to me Bloom: Short compound inflorescence producing several short red bracts that barely escape the leaves with purple tubular flowers Light: Strong indirect or filtered light, some direct light okay Water: Spray or dunk twice a week, allow to dry within 6-8 hours.  Soak monthly to rehydrate up to 2 hours as necessary   This hybrid certainly displays traits from both parents in the best ways.  The leaves are thin and densely stacked like ionantha, but they are soft, gray, and gently recurved like harrisii.  Of course ionantha stunted the bloom, but it still produces really nice color
