This jewelry is handmade in Colombia. Women living in low-income rural areas are trained to become expert artisans and employed in the production of each piece. Teaching techniques and improving skills allows these women independence and the ability to work from home.  This generates much needed revenue while making it possible for each artisan to provide for their families and enabling them to be present with their children and loved ones. This socially responsible practice is designed to support micro-economies and cottage industry in rural Columbia. This bracelet's band is made of woven beads that are reminiscent of the colors on Colombia's flag: blue, red, and yellow. Bracelet features a double tab ornament that measures 1 x 1.25 inches.
