African Clay Vase Black Spiked Handcrafted in Ghana 17"H X 9"W X 31"C

This vase, bulbous at the bottom extending into a slender cylindrical shape is completed with thorn-like spikes using the traditional methods of this region in Ghana. Using local designs with polished stone over a bamboo fire, this vase was crafted free-hand without using a pottery wheel. Although it seems to have a metal texture, this is made with local clay and is light in weight and fragile, although it's held up quite nicely in its journey. A great conversation piece.
