Beaded African Fly Sculpture 12" X 14" W X 14.5" W

This African Fly Sculpture is handcrafted by a renown Zulu couple in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. The husband forms the sculpture with wire and fabric and his wife, completes the sculpture with her intricate beading technique. When I purchased this Fly, I was sure it was a spider and it took me years to notice that it was a Fly simply because I had in my mind that I purchased a spider. As this is a handcrafted and vintage item, there some imperfections, although it's in great shape. Please note front left tentacle at bottom where you see the black thread and the beads are a little loose. You will see that this is neither the typical sculpture or bead work that has become so popular recently, this is a vintage, traditional, handcrafted work of art.
