Tim Cornell Pottery - 011
With its wide, low profile and delicate smoke veining, this piece feels both grounded and ethereal. The organic form and natural cracking reveal the hand of the maker, while the soft ash-gray palette makes it a versatile accent for shelves, consoles, or quiet corners. One of one. ABOUT TIM CORNELL Tim Cornell is a Chicago-based ceramicist whose evocative Raku pottery bridges ancient techniques with contemporary artistry. With a background in conceptual sound sculpture and a BFA from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Tim discovered ceramics as a form of healing and creative expression. His work is distinguished by the use of Raku clay, known for its resilience to thermal shock, and the incorporation of natural elements like ivy, rose leaves, and feathers from his rescue chicken, Brienne of Tarth. Tim's pieces are non-functional, emphasizing form over function, and each is a unique testament to his experimental approach with alternative firing methods such as Saggar and Obvara. Hi
