This new find from Brazil has stunningly lustrous cubic pyrite layered on carbon-heavy Shungite. This combination has great contrast between the shining gold and matte black of the two minerals. 125 grams Pyrite is an iron sulfide mineral with a brass to yellow-gold color and a bright metallic luster. It commonly forms cubic, octahedral, or pyritohedral crystals, often with striated faces. Historically, Pyrite was used as a source of sulfur for sulfuric acid production.
