I grew up in Detroit MI, born into a musical family and the rich musical historythat is Motown. At an early age I picked piano, then guitar, then bass, drums,saxophone, cello, ukulele, and anything else I could get to make a sound. I started writing songs as a teenager, which led to several milestones in mycareer, like being mentored and handpicked by John Legend to open for him atSXSW, winning the grand prize in the Guitar Center Singer-Songwriter contest,and signing my first deal with grammy award winning writer/producer RedOneknown especially for his work with Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj andmany other pop icons. I’ve written thousands of songs for thousands of stories, and I hope yours willbe the next one! - John
