Intro to Machine Appliqué with Funhouse Studio

Join local fiber artist Sharon Hillman of Funhouse Studio to learn the basics of machine appliqué!  You'll be inspired by Sharon's method of designing and creating a fabric patch using stencils, then you'll learn machine appliqué to sew your new patch onto a top or tote bag of your choice.   Sharon will create some stencils for class but you'll also have space to come up with your own design if you'd like to. We encourage you to bring something you already own that you don't reach for or something with a stain/hole/etc. and give it new life as well as any scraps you'd like to bring! We have lots of fabric and scraps available in the studio as well so you'll have plenty to pick from for your projects.  This class is open to all levels as long as you are already comfortable with the basics of operating a sewing machine (threading a spool + bobbin, and sewing a straight stitch and zig zag stitch).  Bio: Sharon Hillman (she/her) is a designer, illustrator, and textile artist in Philadelphi
