CLASS AT OTAKON // Intro to Foamsmithing: Elf Ears

Location: Otakon 2025 - Walter E. Washington Room 144B - Workshop Room Class Length: 1.5 hours New to making armor, props, and more out of EVA foam? In this class, we'll learn the basics of foam crafting and finishing. Each attendee will make a custom set of elf ears and finish them by learning how to prime and paint foam for durability. These will fit behind your real ears using a headband for easy wearability. In this workshop you'll learn: Basic techniques and safety precautions for working with EVA foam How to attach foam pieces together for durability Techniques to cut and shape foam How to prime and paint foam Prerequisite Skills: None, beginner friendly About the Instructor: Plexi Cosplay is an award-winning cosplayer from Maryland specializing in engineering and costume design.
