Bronze Hunting Hounds Sculpture

Bronze hounds sculpture on wooden base. The sculpture is signed P J Mene in the lower right hand corner, there is no foundry mark I could find. The bronze is most likely a copy of the artists original work but a quality and quite heavy one at that. The French artist Pierre-Jules Mene (1810-1879) was considered one of the finest sculptors of his genre. The sculpture measures 33" long by 15" tall and is 17" deep. The wooden base is a latter addition.
