OREGON GRAPE ROOT - A product of Mortar and Petal by CynCraft - Wildharvested, Kosher - Uses: Tea, Tincture, Encapsulated, Incense, Potpourri, Ritual Oregon Grape Root, or Mohonia Aquifolium, is also known as Creeping Oregon-grape, Holly-Leaved Barberry, Holly-leaf Oregon-grape, Mahonia, Mountain Grape, and Oregon Barberry. Oregon Grape is native to western North America, especially prominent in the Pacific Northwest. The Oregon grape is a bushy, flowering perennial with shiny, prickly, holly-like leaves. As the leaves age, they can turn shades of orange and red. The berries are tart, blackish-blue, and resemble small grapes. However, despite its fancy foliage, it is the root that is the most useful.
