Awestruck at the Kelp Forest 39 x 24

After visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium, I was inspired to capture this scene in fabric.  The sun shining through the kelp forest was so beautiful. I knew that I wanted to replicate this with textiles and began to think of all the possible swatches to use.  Like painting with strokes of fabric, this one of a kind art work was created by meticulously adding hundreds of tiny pieces of fabric to a canvas and stitched together creating depth and movement.  39”x24”
