Great Things Take Time From the infusion of raw ingredients that come from the earth infused into the pure and natural oils, to the charcoal mellowing of the oils, and then rounding everything out with the maturation into the whiskey barrel. Infusion Process This process is called Maceration. The process uses a carrier oil as a solvent. The carrier oil is passed through the raw material matter, picking up the unnecessary trace compounds. The remaining solid residue is pressed to recover all the liquid. The mixture is filtered then strained and expressed. This produces the “infused oils” Charcoal Mellowing Process After the oil has gone through the infusion process it is then gravity fed through charcoal made from sugar maple wood. This process is called “charcoal mellowing” This last about 2-4 days in order to remove any impurities left over from the infusion process to give the oil its highest quality for hair and skin.
