Tango Drum Ensemble
Tango is a style of music and dance that comes from Argentina, a country in the southern-most part of South America. In Argentina, tango is the popular music of the streets. It’s common to see tango dancers meeting up for a milonga (social tango dance) in public parks, restaurants, and even the train station! The dramatic tension of tango music is found in the contrast between its legato and staccato notes. Tango lengthens the time between notes in one moment (legato) and shortens it in the next (staccato). This drum ensemble arrangement includes 4 Learning Levels - a Signature Rhythm, a Drum Break, an Accompaniment Rhythm, and the Full Arrangement, with streaming video and PDF sheet music for each level. Music is demonstrated with djembe (hand drum) and djun-djun (stick drum), using the Dancing Drum instructional method. Once students have mastered the Tango Drum Ensemble, you can add the Tango Xylophone Ensemble. This music is also featured in Dancing Drum's book, "The Rhythm Is Her
