 Francine Rubin is the author of the poetry chapbooks City Songs (Blue Lyra Press) and Geometries (Finishing Line Press).  She holds degrees from Dartmouth College, Emerson College, and Columbia University.   From ages 13 - 17, she was a commuter in New York City.  She is now a Boston-area commuter.    Backpack Orange Line to Oak Grove5:15pm, November 16, 2015Anyone could be a perpetrator.What does that backpack carry?  I hope Citizen or student papers,not guns. In my bag I have From the Mouth of the Whale, a banana I forgot to eat, my phone, Starbucks napkins. If a gun fired in here, there would benowhere to go.
