Ruth Baumann is the author of Parse, forthcoming in 2018 from Black Lawrence Press. She is also the author of four chapbooks: A Thousand Ars Poeticas (Sixth Finch, 2018), Retribution Binary (Black Lawrence Press, 2017), wildcold (Slash Pines Press, 2016) & I’ll Love You Forever & Other Temporary Valentines (Salt Hill, 2015).  She holds an MFA from the University of Memphis & is pursuing her PhD at Florida State    This is Not a Complaint   There is a type of safety that makes me talk & a type that makes me quiet. Because our bodies are mostly water, it could be argued we are monsters.  The immortal jellyfish are a lie: what falls apart in us falls apart in us. I don’t mean anything bad. I don’t mean anything.
