Clematis 'Arabella', Non-vining Clematis

This is a non-vining, bushy clematis. Give it support if you want it to be upright, or allow it to meander amongst its neighbors. From summer through early fall, individual blooms open violet-blue, then get pale lilac centers, and finally fade to a soft blue. Group 3 – Flowers only on new wood. Can be cut to the ground in fall or spring. Cut stems 12-18 inches from the soil, just above a growth node or new shoot. Mature size:  3-6 feet tall & wide Minimum temperature: -30° F
