Desert Oasis

DESERT OASIS – A 24×36-inch acrylic on canvas capturing the unexpected beauty and joy of Toquerville Falls in Southern Utah.  This painting was inspired by the striking contrast of journeying along a rugged desert road only to discover the cool rush of water spilling into a crystal pool. In this work, layered sandstone in warm sienna, coral, and violet tones meets the turquoise shimmer of the falls, creating a visual and emotional sense of arrival. The play of cascading water against weathered rock evokes both movement and stillness, an invitation to pause and take in the rare lushness hidden within the desert. The colors and textures convey the vivid energy of this place, the exhilaration of finding an oasis in the midst of arid stillness, and the playful possibilities it holds.
