We are not responsible for your candle burning improperly if you do not do this for each burn!! Never leave unattended or burn more than 4 hours at a time. Wood wicks are generally self-trimming however if wick reaches longer than 1/4'', or you have difficulty keeping it lit, simply pinch off the charred wood before lightning. Discard candle when less than 1/2'' of wax remains.
