Zinnia Silhouette: Aqua & Green

The Zinnia Silhouette Collection really happened a bit by accident, because as I was starting to paint a collection of colorful zinnia paintings, my Instagram followers kept mentioning how much they loved the initial painted sketches on the canvases before I started layering on the color! I got to thinking about how I would paint the pieces if the sketch WAS the painting, what things I might do differently or what details I might add and that is how the Zinnia Silhouettes were born!  I've loved dreaming up the various color combinations and the painting of each one has been a joy! This painting features shades of aqua on the background, with bits of bright pink underpainting peeking through in places around the piece.  The flowers were all painted in shades of cool-toned greens giving the painting a serene, calm feel to it.
