A large fallen branch that stood in my path and the mossy vine shimmered like teal-tinged wings, illuminated by the sun behind me. The exposed portion of the branch, glowing green, leaned at a steep angle into the horizon line. Undaunted, she leaned into life as if she were no longer afraid to meet the sun face to face and to dance with wild abandon on the edge of the last light.
