Maligano Jasper Slab 17

Maligano Jasper from Indonesia made its appearance to the lapidary market about a year ago.  A very unusual brecciated jasper in shades of oranges, blues and gray showcases distinctive jasper scenes and occasionally includes a field of dendrites.  The material may have some pits and healed fractures but the effort involved in isolating a splendid scene for a cabochon is well worth the effort. Origin:  Indonesia Dimensions:  2.25" x 1.75" and approximately 8.4 mm thick.  Weight = 47 grams.  Shown wet.  Not polished. Known flaws are shown as white lines in the final picture frame.
