Rare African Carved Mortar & Pestle

A set of antique mortar and pestle from the Yoruba tribe in Nigeria. Both elements carved from single logs of wood with a dark wax finish. This antique African kitchen mortar features carved breast on the body, which is a symbol of fertility. The long pestle has a face carved at the top end. *Era: Antique *Material: Wood *Size: 11“(D) x 16"(H)/ 3“(D) x 40"(H) *Color: Brown *Condition: Wear consistent with age & use, blemishes and imperfections will be present.
