Bargue Plate I-05 Profile of a Foot

This model of a foot in profile is the first plate representing the three-step approach so characteristic of Charles Bargue's drawing course. First, a very simple block-in defines the foot's general shape. Then a more detailed block-in of the main elements of the model and finally the model in values. The Bargue plate has been carefully restored before being printed in lithography at full-size and high-resolution, so that it can be made available to art students as it was originally in the 19th century. Printed on a 19th-century lithographic press, on grey-blue tinted fine art paper (350g). Ideal for charcoal or graphite pencil copying. Size: 17 x 24"
