Galaga Tribute | Brass Lighter

Customized Brass Lighter •My ode to Galaga, the crown jewel of my '80s arcade days! A crafted a brass lighter that's less 'fire starter' and more 'blast from the past'. The 3D star-fighter itself was made from three layers of brass; each layer representing a color from the original 2D graphic. Hand cutting the symmetrical angles and straight lines proved to be quite challenging but ultimately a rewarding task. All components were silver soldered onto an original brass armored Zippo lighter (no affiliation).  Lastly an antique vibe to given to convey that 'just-found-in-a-space-wreck' look, then polished the top layer to mirror-finish so it reflects my beaming pride. A labor of love, and definitely a 'one and done' deal - because frankly, my fingers are still recovering! Thank you for taking the time to look at my work.
