Russell's Reserve 2003 is the third release in the highly-coveted "Vintage" series from Master Distiller Eddie Russell as an homage to his father- the "Buddha of Bourbon" Jimmy Russell. The 2003 was aged to Barrel Proof perfection for a minimum of 16 years in Wild Turkey's Tyrone warehouses and marks the very last of their 107-barrel-entry-proof whiskey. Reminiscent of Wild Turkey releases from the mid-1980s to early 1990s, Eddie had a "Eureka!" moment after tasting these one-of-a-kind barrels bursting with sweet baking spices, juicy stone fruits, and butterscotch flavors. nextSection COLOR: Dark Amber AROMA: Charred oak mingled with sweet baking spices and hints of dark, juicy stone fruits and butterscotch. PALATE: Bright spice with layers of confectioner's sugar, burnt caramel, with buttery vanilla and leather; ending with a subtle, peppery heat. FINISH: Smoky and smooth, with lingering oak and sweet notes of caramel and vanilla.
