The Spoils- S/T LP.  The Spoils are a quintet from Melbourne where their popularity has lead them to share the stage with the likes of Bonnie Prince Billy, Catpower, The Drones, Rowland S Howard and The Flying Burrito Brothers. Twangy guitars, Spanish horns, violin and accordion drive Sean Simmons' Raymond Chandler-style noir tales of desperadoes, drunks and wickedly dangerous woman. If Nick Cave and Tom Waits were to write the score for a Morricone film about a drunken band on their way to the carnivale it would sound like this LP with it’s torturous tales so titilatingly intrigueing.
