V/A- Soulful Sounds From Soulville CD.  Soulville was a small indie label from that was heavily active in the mid 60's to late 70's and was based in Harrisburg, PA. Although Harrisburg has never been soul central, the label on the other hand most certainly was. And like so many regional labels in the pre-disco U.S., it supported a thriving local scene. Enter Bobby Fulton, the labels primary owner and taste maker he was a soul man supreme. Soulville and sister label Jaywalking were like a 100 other independent labels of the era, scraping together what money they could to record local talent, the only difference is that whoever Fulton seamed to touch were actually really good. And the same can be said for the bands that he playing in and wrote songs for. Fulton's classic "Standing on The Corner" is an off the wall Vietnam protest song beseeching Uncle Sam that was pretty instense for it’s time.
