“A Wish for Home” Fine Art by Deanna Caroon “Art must be an expression of love or it is nothing.” – Marc Chagall While painting this piece I was thinking of the a recent performance we went to of my nieces and nephews . They did a salute to all of the military members home and away. They sang “I’ll be home for Christmas”. My family all became emotional as my husband served for over 20 years and went on 13 deployments. My husband and I grabbed each other’s hands tightly as if to say it’s finally over , he’s home for good now. Many holidays, milestones, and events were missed. He recently retired and I cannot tell you how full my heart is to have him home with us. To know we will have him home now is the best gift we could ever ask for.
