Scrap Star Handmade Quilt Coat
Thick and warm quilt coat cut from a 1940/1950s Scrap Star quilt with thick cotton batting and kelly green interior - machine pieced and hand quilted. A generous cut with shawl collar and front patch pockets and alternate pattern lining. Designed to fit a range of bodies and styles. As with all antique garments, there are likely to be some spots of wear. The quilts are generally 100 years old or more, so you may find bits of character throughout the piece. It is not uncommon to see storage stains, small mends, rips, or tears throughout the garment. These are parts of the story of the garment and what's lovely about working with old textiles. The marks of the past are still here in our present.
