Viña Coterro Rioja Reserva, DOCa Rioja, Spain 2019 Viña Coterro is a collaboration between Bodegas Burgo Viejo, Master of Wine Fernando Mora, and Valkyrie Selections. The vineyards are located in Alfaro on the fertile banks of the Ebro River at the foot of the Yerga Mountain, where diverse soils and microclimates allow Tempranillo to thrive. This Reserva captures Rioja’s classic balance of fruit, spice, and oak-aged elegance. WINEMAKER: Bodegas Burgo Viejo with Fernando Mora MW. FARMING: Sustainable estate farming. VARIETY: 100% Tempranillo. TERROIR: Alfaro, Rioja DOCa. Estate vineyards averaging 50 years of age on varied soils along the Ebro River basin, with influences from both fertile alluvial deposits and the slopes of the Yerga Mountain. VINIFICATION: Primary fermentation in stainless steel, followed by malolactic fermentation in concrete tanks. AGING: 18 months in a mix of French and American oak. TASTING NOTES: Bold and energetic with blackberry, cherry, and dark
