Trucker Steamer Tunk  by Drucker Trunk Company of Cincinnatti, Ohio. 1897 with original label and including top tray very old Drucker Steam Trunk. The sticker is still on the inside. It reads: "BEAUTY AND STRENGTH ...THE BEST TRUNKS BARE THIS TRADEMARK. REG. JAN. 1897.”ALL ORIGINAL HARDWARE. The classic flat top trunks like this one are with metal background and hardwood staves. Their basic shape and design is a rectangular box covered sheet metal, metal trim and hardware. Some flat tops of this type were covered in sheet metal between the staves. Most had trays inside but the trays were usually not made nearly as sturdily as the trunks themselves, therefore many found today will be missing the tray.It is, I believe, also called a Stave Trunk. It has horizontal running slats (The word "stave" in this case refers to the wood slats. These trunks were mostly made from the late 1860's until about the mid 1880)Plenty of storage space.
