Clocked Wool stockings Thigh high, One Size Fits Most 99% Wool 1% Nylon Available in Cream and Charcoal These are made of a soft medium weight Merino Wool. These stockings feature ribbing and a clocked ankle design very similar to extant examples. Historical Note: Worsted (wool) stockings were worn by most all social classes in the 18th & 19th centuries. The finer the texture or weave, the more expensive the stockings.
