What began as a quarter-acre plot in 1984 has flourished into a small estate of meticulously tended coffee, thus earning the Kurias an exporter’s license after 40 years of farming. Having their own license allows them to bypass Kenya’s centralized auction and negotiate fairer prices through direct trade.
