Transient Mammatus

Mammatus cloud formations are rare, and look like small pouches hanging from the sky.. When these particular clouds formed over the mountains I caught my breath wondering if they were indeed these rare clouds I had seen pictures of but never witnessed. I'm no meteorologist so can't claim that these were mammatus with any authority. My guess is that they were the beginnings of mammatus that never fully materialized. Nevertheless they were beautiful cloud formations and I was lucky enough to find a creek, meadow and forest to complement the mountain and it's clouds.
