Caroline Blue 6

Here's a leggy version of a similarly named bass popper which is tied, as this one is, using hand-painted popper foam. This smaller blue fly is a great choice for fooling bass of all sorts, pike, panfish, and the largest and most aggressive trout. Why blue? The favorite prey of stillwater fish might just be the blue damselfly or the larger brightly-colored dragonfly. This tough pattern was likely named for the North Carolina Tar Heels.
